Whyte & Mackay 30 YO Blended Scotch Whisky	Big, full, intense nose loaded with ripe fruit and sweet malt. Just the softest touch of grain with floral backing and hints of vanilla and cinnamon. Lagavulin 16 YO Single Malt Scotch Whisky	Intense smoky nose with scents of seaweed and lime followed by sea breezes, honeydew melon and kiwi fruit. Mellow in the mouth with some fine oak then all the flavours promised on the nose take over. The iodine and sweetness in the mouth dry out into a prolonged charry finish. Oban Distillers Edition 1995 Single Malt Scotch Whisky	Mildly smoky nose with some fine sherry-like notes and loads of spice. Silky smooth in the mouth with delightful flavours of ripe berry fruits and beautifully judged oak. Beautiful , crunchy malt and a greater release of the smoke that was evident in the nose. Ardbeg 10 YO Single Malt Scotch Whisky	A salty tang rings out on the nose with peat, and heather flowers close behind. Almost treacle sweet in the mouth with massive wave of malt. Some iodine and sailcloth are there. Then comes the floral wave of lavender and primrose with hints of sea pinks add a twist of lemon and honey. Some spices come trickling in with vanilla and liquorice in the main. A slight marine touch is lurking in the background. Mellow and mature yet still a firmly controlled finish. Invergordon 1973 Cask Strength Single Grain Whisky	Nose is simply laden with toffee, a range of nutty aromas, cedar wood and vanilla. Lagavulin Distillers Edition 1993	Very hard to separate the two ! Very similar whiskies and judges battled to put one before the other. Both stunning with similar intensities of smoke and aromatic characters . The mellowness in the mouth with the fine oak and repeat of all the nose promised was the same in both whiskies. Clynelish 14 YO Single Malt Scotch Whisky	Very inviting, rich, full fruited nose with loads of malt and some well defined smokiness. It appears sweet in the mouth with all the sweet malty notes and sweet spice. Some great wood work helps the balance and leads it to a relatively dry finish. Glenmorangie Original 10 YO Single Malt Scotch Whisky	Delicate but determined nose with gorgeous floral wave of spring and summer flowers. Lots of malt and fine oak follow. Hints of golden syrup . Light but flavourful in the mouth with sweet sensation and lovely, smooth flow across the palate.
