Kristina Beuthner had her own company in Import and Distribution of white, red and sparkling wines in South America, and being a bilingual business administrator she decided that it was time to learn more about the wine she was selling.
Arriving in Johannesburg South Africa in 1995, she began evening courses at Cape Wine Academy. It was while she was doing her Diploma course that she decided that it was time to move back into the wine industry. She has also worked for a liquor wholesaler and a wine distributor where she focused on marketing, sales, management.
Now Kristina consults for the industry, helps with corporate functions, writes articles, judges at the IWSC, and is a CWA lecturer. She belongs to two tasting clubs, regularly attends public tastings and visits wine shows.
She is the northern manager of the Institute of Cape Wine Masters, in Johannesburg.
Kristina especially enjoys Riesling, as well as other interesting white and red varieties including Pinot Noir and wines from the Old World.
