Micky Chan is an independent wine educator, connoisseur and consultant in the wine industry. He is an Associate Member of Institute of Wine & Spirit, and holds WSET® Diploma in Wines and Spirits, Certified WSET Educator qualifications. Also, he granted “Certified Specialist of Wine” (CSW) issued by US Society of wine Educators, and Certified Sommelier (CS) approved by UK Court of Master Sommelier qualification in 2011.
In 2009, Mr. Chan and two wine educating partners founded their own wine school, Hong Kong Wine Academy, in Hong Kong, which focused on teaching WSET® Level 1 to 3 (UK) and Certified Specialists of Wine and Spirits qualification (US). Besides Hong Kong, Mr. Chan travels through Macau and Southern part of China for various wine courses and in-trade professional trainings, which involves various education bodies, organizations and hotels and even private commercial companies.
Other than wine educations, Mr. Chan continues his professional to Japanese alcoholic beverages. He granted the Certified Sake Sommelier (SSA) and being the first Certified SSA Course educator in Hong Kong. Next year, he also completed his Japanese “kikisake-shi” qualification, from Sake Service Institute and become a member of Japanese Food and Beverages Organization and NPO in Japan. In year 2012, Mr. Chan started teaching Japanese sake course in Hong Kong and Macau regions, and keeps spreading this special Japanese sake culture to the professional bodies, mass public and several interest groups.
