Linda Schmitt is a wine education professional with an extensive business and marketing background. She holds a Certified Wine Professional Degree from the Culinary Institute of America where she studied at the Rudd Center for Professional Wine Studies in the Napa Valley.
After receiving her MBA from Rutgers University, Linda worked as a marketing executive in the medical device industry, eventually rising to VP, Worldwide Marketing at Becton Dickinson. Her global business travel allowed her to visit, taste and self-study in numerous wine regions worldwide.
Linda left the heath care field to become fully entrenched in the wine industry. In her current position with Karen MacNeil and Company, she develops strategic marketing initiatives and education programs focused on advancing wine education in the United States and abroad. Linda participates in numerous weekly wine tastings, evaluating hundreds of wines in support of numerous projects.
For three years running, Linda has participated as one of the small group of U.S. judges for the prestigious International Wine and Spirits Competition, in addition to judging local California competitions.
