Louise-Ann Grinstead's wine history spans 25 years as a South African Wine Educator, Wine Judge and Consultant and she is best known for specialising as a “wine tasting trainer” (SA and international wines).
She started studying wine concurrently with her university degree. Her wine enthusiasm led to over 12 wine course qualifications included KWV Final Diploma, Cape Wine Academy Diploma 2 Graduate, spirits courses, SA Wine Judging Certificate. She got a French scholarship which included attending a wine marketing course at L'Universite du Vin de Suze la Rousse in the Rhone Valley, a course in Burgundy and sponsored wine travels in France. She's also travelled extensively to other wine regions abroad.
Louise-Ann was Head of KWV Wine Courses and moved to Cape Wine Academy when they amalgamated, to become the official wine education body in SA. She lectured thousands of students over the years i.e. diploma students, the public, wine industry, hospitality & tourism industries and education bodies, as well as training wine lecturers.
Lu became a Wine Consultant after her wine education years. She has wine judged on various wine panels. She lived in the UK for 9 years, where she got further international exposure and is now living back in South Africa. Wine Judging is still her passion. Her other business is Renovation Co, fittingly, specialising in renovating and painting wineries, cellars and hotels. |
