Jochen Erler

As a 13 year-old adolescent I helped myself to my father’s wine cellar - mostly Samos nectars - to entertain my friends. During my post-graduate training I maintained my own wine cellar of around 200 bottles - mainly German Rieslings. While working at UN Headquarters in New York, my collection became more international.

My activities as a life-long wine lover and occasional wine consultant led, after retirement, to 15 years of professional wine writing as my second career and 20 years as a taster at IWSC and other competitions world-wide. Today my preferences are mineral white wines, Pinot Noir and a good number of other varietal wines made from indigenous red grapes. To keep me going I combine wine with spas - hence my http://jochenwineandspas.blogspot.com.
