Brenda was born and raised on a farm in Keimoes, Northern Cape, South Africa. She had always been interested in grapes and the growing thereof, later sparking an interest in winemaking which has become her passion and her career.
She joined Delheim Wines in 1999 as Assistant Winemaker after completing her studies at Elsenburg College in Stellenbosch. She was promoted to Winemaker in 2003, and has filled this position ever since then. Being part of numerous judging panels in South Africa has made her aware of the diversity of wines and wine styles in this country. She has also visited winemaking regions in France and Germany.
Brenda believes it's important to stick to the basics when it comes to winemaking, but also to give attention to detail and always stay focused. |
