The Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition is the first truly Asian wines and spirits competition of its kind in the world, it has been created specifically for the Asian market by those who know and are intimately involved in the region.
Supported by key factors such as: Chinese food and wine pairing awards; an award for Best Wine produced in China; and judging is conducted by Asia’s most esteemed wine judges from China, Singapore, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and India – including the competition’s Director and Master of Wine, Hong Kong-based Debra Meiburg MW and Chinese food and wine expert Simon Tam.
The competition results will offer the Asian wine consumer the ultimate guide to purchasing wine that is sensitive to the Asian palate and cultural consumption patterns.

Spirits of the Americas is a new venture that seeks to celebrate the diversity and innovation of distilling in the Americas by recognising the very best that’s out there and bringing it to consumers for their enjoyment. What Food What Wine South Africa?
What Food What Wine? is an exciting competition which takes your favourite South African 'every-day recipes' and finds the best wines to match.
Using a crack team of food and wine experts , we find the best wines to match with each dish. The aim is to help wine drinkers experiment with confidence when it comes to finding wines to go with their favourite dishes.
In our inaugural 2013 What Food What Wine? Competition, categories included; 'Snacks', including dishes such as Biltong, the much-loved 'Traditionally South African' including Pap & Wors and Babotie, 'Familiar Favourites' including Mushroom Risotto and Lasagne and finally the 'For Afters' category, all created by our food director, Jenny Morris. As South Africa's first major food and wine matching competition, it differs from the other wine competitions in that all wines are judged specifically and only on the suitability of the match.
The Spirits of Mexico
The oldest, largest and most comprehensive festival for agave and other Mexican spirits in North America, The Mexican Spirits Tasting Festival is being held this year on September 28 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, San Diego, CA.
Through seminars hosted by recognized industry professionals, guests learn about the history and culture of each spirit, current trends and appropriate tasting techniques.
It is our belief that through education on all aspects of these spirits, imbibers will consume responsibly and hold in the highest regard, the generations of master distillers and blenders whose art form is experienced in each delicious drop.
