IWSC Trophies
New trophies for 2010
The International Wine and Spirit Competition are pleased to announce that Wines from Rioja is the proud sponsor of the newly introduced IWSC Trophy for Rioja.
Ricardo Aguiriano from the Consejo Regulador de Rioja DOCa comments “The IWSC is one of the world’s most prestigious wine competitions and Rioja wineries have done particularly well in recent years, winning 58% of the gold medals awarded to Spain in 2009. The Rioja trophy will give further support to the category, recognising the quality coming out of this exciting wine region.”
Product Trophies
Trophies are presented to the very best or the year's entries in specific categories. These Trophies are awarded after a further tasting of the highest scoring products in the specified categories. Many are sponsored by well-known names within the industry.
The trophies for all products will be released in October 2009.
Trophies for Individuals, Producers and Retailers
In addition,each year, The International Wine and Spirit Competition commends the achievements of those members of the wine and spirit trade who make an outstanding contribution to the industry.
These individuals or companies set the standards of excellence for the rest of the industryto follow and influence the quality, variety, value, and educationalinformation available to the wine and spirit consumer.
The winners for the 2009 competition will be announced at the awards banquet on November 17th 2010, at London Guildhall.
