IWSC Trophies
New trophies for 2009
To celebrate the 40th Anniversary the IWSC will be initiating the following awards for 2009:
- Special award to person / company whose contribution has made the most positive impact to the spirits industry over past 40 years
- Special award to person / company whose contribution has made the most positive impact to the wine industry over past 40 years
- Best 40 YO whisky in the competition, (malt or blended)
- The best Vintage wine in the Competition, 10 years or over
Product Trophies
Trophies are presented to the very best or the year's entries in specific categories. These Trophies are awarded after a further tasting of the highest scoring products in the specified categories. Many are sponsored by well-known names within the industry.
The trophies for all products will be released in October 2009.
Trophies for Individuals, Producers and Retailers
In addition,each year, The International Wine and Spirit Competition commends the achievements of those members of the wine and spirit trade who make an outstanding contribution to the industry.
These individuals or companies set the standards of excellence for the rest of the industryto follow and influence the quality, variety, value, and educationalinformation available to the wine and spirit consumer.
The winners for the 2009 competition will be announced at the awards banquet on November 26th 2009, at London Guildhall.
