 Judges Tasting Notes:
Deep dark inky depth of colour, brooding intensity. The nose starts off reluctant, giving smokey oak, meat, spice and dried fruit/herb characters. Slowly the wine gives up its treasure in the mouth The spice and oak give way to dark intense autumn berry fruit, graphite, anise/menthol, bitter chocolate, the layers go on and on, wound around a tannic core, which spirals upwards and outwards giving an intense burst of richness and character in the mouth before lingering, almost dawdaling, to the finish.
