New Zealand winemaker Andy Anderson has again beaten wines from the best in the world at London’s prestigious International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) to take out the World’s Best Pinot Noir Trophy.
This special rum was awarded Silver at the 2017 International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC), achieved the Rum Trophy and Gold Medal Outstanding at the 2015 IWSC as well as being awarded Gold Medal Outstanding in the 2014 and 2013 IWSC.
The supermarket launched the wine last Christmas and it proved so popular that its back for the second year in a row. Last year it was even awarded ‘silver outstanding’ for quality in the International Wine and Spirit Competition.
This year we submitted three wines to the International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC). We were exhilarated to find out at Cape Wine this month that we had been awarded one gold and two silver medals for our entries!
There is a huge amount of competition in the gin market: at the 2018 International Wine And Spirit Competition this year over 600 different gins were entered, outstripping the number of Scotch whiskies for the first time.
