Dirceu Vianna Jr., known as 'Junior', hails from Brazil, where he pursued studies in Forest Engineering and Law before relocating to the UK in 1989. With nearly three decades immersed in the wine industry, Junior now lends his expertise as a consultant to various businesses worldwide. He also serves as a distinguished judge at select wine competitions, an esteemed wine educator, and an accomplished author.


As the first Brazilian Master of Wine, Junior resides in London with his wife, Adriana, and daughter, Sophia, where he operates Vianna Wine Resources. His journey in wine began in 1990 upon his arrival in London, marking the commencement of an illustrious career spanning continents and disciplines.


Junior's extensive travels and educational pursuits have led him to complete prestigious programs such as the 'Master Napa Valley' in the United States and the Diplome d’Honneur at l’Ecole D’Alsace. He is a member of the esteemed Champagne Academy, having earned the 'Golden Magnum Award' as Top Student, and was honored with L’Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne for his contributions to the Champagne Region.


Achieving the coveted title of Master of Wine in September 2008, Junior distinguished himself further by receiving the Top Student prize in the 'Business of Wine' segment of the examination. His commitment to sharing his knowledge extends to co-authoring the acclaimed book 'Conheça Vinhos' ('Understanding Wine'), which received the 'Gourmand World Cookbook Award' in Paris.


Throughout his illustrious career, Junior has held pivotal roles as Wine Director at leading UK wine distributors. Leveraging his wealth of experience and vast network, he now provides consultancy services to businesses across Africa, South America, and Europe. As a sought-after judge, technical advisor, commercial consultant, and wine educator, Junior's influence resonates globally, making him a revered figure in the wine industry. Additionally, he serves as a Wine Judging Committee member for the IWSC, further solidifying his impact on the international wine community.
