"Born in 1972 I grew up on a small fruit growing farm in the south of Styria. So I got in touch with fruit very early.
"After education in fruit growing/processing and winemaking in Klosterneuburg I was advisor for fruit processing and berry growing in Tirol from 1994 to 1997. After that the department „Fruit-processing“ in the Research Station Haidegg in Graz, Styria followed.
"Since 2014 I am employed in the 'College for Viticulture and Winegrowing Silberberg' responsible for education in fruit processing and for preparation of some fruit based products in the Wine Estate Silberberg. My main focus is production of juice, wine, distillates and spreads.
"Beside my profession in school I am member of several judging panels for fruit based products and also give courses in processing and judging. I am also author of some handbooks. In 2012 I took over the organic farm of my parents and produce 'Kriecherl' – a type of wild plums in the south of Styria."
