Our rigorous judging process consists of our experts awarding bronze, silver, gold and gold-outstanding medals to spirits that show complexity, balance and character. Once the scores have been determined, it is time to award the best of the best with the coveted trophies. To select our trophy winners, our Spirits Judging Committee – which this year was made up of David T Smith, Ian Burrell, Marie Cheong-Thong, and Colin Hampden-White, along with our veteran judges Ivan Dixon and Guy Hodcroft – retaste all gold-winning spirits to find our trophy winners.

This has been the biggest spirits judging in IWSC history, therefore, this year the number of trophies awarded was increased to 23. Our trophy winners hail from 16 different countries as diverse as Taiwan, Martinique, Macedonia and Denmark. The categories new to the 2021 trophies are, Ready to Drink (RTD), Grappa, Armagnac, Tequila and with so many Scotch Whisky entries we have awarded two additional trophies to this ever-growing category.

We are delighted to announce the full list of spirits trophy winners. We’d like to congratulate all our worthy winners and thank our judges for their time and expertise. See the full list of trophy winners below.
