IWSC Scotch & Worldwide Whisky Tasting
To celebrate the world of whisky and in recognition of our 2021 President Michael Urquhart, the IWSC is delighted to share news of an exclusive new event.
On Thursday 21 October at Edinburgh’s The Balmoral Hotel, the IWSC warmly invites the industry to attend its 2021 Whisky Tastings, Awards Ceremony & Dinner.
Created exclusively for members of the trade, the two-part event will provide whisky lovers an opportunity to sample a range of more than 250 Gold-Outstanding and Gold-medal-winning whiskies and IWSC 2021 spirit trophy winners.
During the afternoon session, The Balmoral’s Waverley and Holyrood Rooms will host a walk-around whisky tasting for up to 150 members of the industry.
For the evening event, following the walk-around tasting of the 250 Gold and Gold Outstanding medal winners, the IWSC will be hosting an awards ceremony announcing the winners of the IWSC 2021 whisky trophies as well as the 2021 Spirits Communicator of the Year winner, in partnership with Chivas Brothers. The ceremony will be hosted by IWSC Spirit Judging Committee member, Joel Harrison and winner of the 2020 Spirits Communicator of the Year award, Becky Paskin. The evening event will incorporate a three-course dinner with carefully matched wines and whiskies, followed by an opportunity to kick off those heels at the exclusive after-party. The event will be attended by IWSC’s 2021 President Michael Urquhart: the former managing director of family-owned Scotch whisky and premium spirits specialist Gordon & MacPhail.
