Founded in Glasgow in 1844 by Charles Mackay and James Whyte, Whyte & Mackay is one of Scotland’s most enduring whisky producers.

As well as making its own single malt and blended Scotch whiskies, it also owns renowned brands Dalmore, Jura, Tamnavulin and Fettercairn single malts, as well as Glayva liqueur and Vladivar vodka.

The historic W&M blend is comprised of 41 different malt and grain whiskies from the Highlands and Speyside that are put through a triple-maturation process. This sees them aged separately before being brought together for time in ex-Sherry casks prior to bottling.

In 2019, the company, now owned by Philippines-based Emperador Inc, launched a low-ABV spirit named Whyte & Mackay Light. At 21.5%, this lighter offering is made from Scotch whisky married with Sherry.
