Bulmer started his career in the on-trade before working for small independent wine merchants and eventually The Wine Society, where he joined the buying team in 2015. He has experience working with a vast number of emerging wine regions but his buying portfolio now centres around wines from Australia, New Zealand, Portugal (including Port & Madeira) and Austria. In addition to this he works with beers as well as low/no alcohol drinks. He is credited with playing a key role in promoting Austrian fine wines in the UK Market, being the first Buyer in the world to apply the en primeur model to the country's top Erste Lage wines.
