Alistair Cooper began his wine career working in export management for wineries in Chile and Argentina. After moving back to the UK in 2005, he worked in all aspects of the wine trade, from managing, buying and consulting for wine bars and restaurants to importing and wholesaling wines.
He was awarded the Derouet Jameson Award after passing his WSET Diploma in 2012, and became a Master of Wine in 2017.
Cooper currently works internationally as a consultant, writer, judge and educator. He is a regular contributor to consumer and trade magazines, and is currently writing a wine guide to the wines of Latin America. Alistair is the global consultant wine buyer for Sydney-based Australian company United Cellars, Australia’s largest independent wine merchant.
