Club Soda
Founder
Laura Willoughby MBE is a changemaker using social business to shift culture and is one of the UK’s leading voices on inclusive drinking — pushing for a world where choice is normal, pressure disappears and alcohol isn’t the default setting. She is the co-founder of Club Soda, a social impact business working to make alcohol-free, low and mid-strength drinks available, visible, and celebrated. What began as a grassroots consumer movement is now a platform for proper systems change — spanning policy and lobbying, trade education, research, festivals, global industry summits and curated ranges that actually sell. For more than a decade, Laura has worked at the crossroads of culture, commerce and public health, helping individuals, businesses and institutions rethink their relationship with alcohol. Her focus isn’t abstinence or judgement - it’s about expanding choice and building markets that make healthier options easier and commercially smart. Laura advises governments, retailers, producers and venues in the UK and internationally, and is a trusted connector across the no, low and mid-strength ecosystem. She’s known for bringing smaller brands, new ideas and overlooked voices into rooms where decisions get made. She also leads the No, Low & Mid-Strength Summit, a groundbreaking, brand-led annual event designed to grow the sector. Her work has been widely recognised. Laura was named #21 in Drinks Retailing’s Top 100 Most Influential People in Drink (2025) and one of CODE’s 100 Most Influential Women in Hospitality. Club Soda’s Tasting Room was Independent Retailer of the Year 2023 and Speciality Retailer of the Year 2025. She is a Drink Doctor for The Caterer, a London Wine Fair Ambassador, and a judge for WAFA, IWSC, the Great British Food Awards, the Global Drinks Intel ESG Awards and Publican of the Year. She is also a Trustee of The Drinks Trust and Equal Measure. Laura received an MBE for services to the community in London for her long-standing work as a community campaigner and as Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Culture on Islington Council. She has previously served as Chief Executive of The Food Chain and The National Campaign for the Arts.
