Olivier Ward is a global gin specialist, consultant and judge, known for helping producers through clearer positioning, more cohesive ranges and flavour rationale, and rigorous sensory evaluation. He has worked across multiple markets, building distilleries and drinks brands in Africa, India and Australia, alongside ongoing work in the UK. His focus spans commissioning and build support, NPD and recipe development, and improving flavour and operational efficiency at scale. Over the past decade, Olivier has been at the forefront of modern gin’s evolution. He was the editor of Gin Foundry and Spirits Beacon, and is the creator of Botanical Tasting Wheels, designed to help distillers and judges articulate flavour with greater precision. He also co-founded major global gin events including Junipalooza, bringing producers and drinkers together around education, quality, and category craft. Olivier is a member of The Gin Guild and a former winner of the IWSC Spirits Communicator of the Year Award. He is also a regular broadcast contributor and publishes Everglow Spirits’ in-depth editorial coverage of the gin category.
