Janet Wang is an award-winning British-Chinese wine author. Her debut book, The Chinese Wine Renaissance, published by Penguin Random House, was shortlisted for the “Oscars of Wine” — the Louis Roederer Wine Book of the Year 2019, and won the 2020 Gourmand World Award for Wine. She is a regular wine pundit on British national radio and television (BBC and Channel 4), a TEDxSOHO speaker, and a sought-after host for wine events spanning corporate and social occasions, beverage-sector investors, and leading institutions including Cambridge, Oxford, LSE, and SOAS. Her work introduces wine and wine culture to experts and novices alike, from China-focused forums to private members’ clubs such as 67 Pall Mall. Internationally recognised as a leading specialist on Chinese wine, Janet is one of its most dynamic global ambassadors. She is an active Chinese-speaking member of the Circle of Wine Writers and the Association of Wine Educators, and serves as a judge at major international competitions, including the Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Awards. Janet began her wine writing career in 2012. She holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge and spent a decade as an investment banker in London. Today, she combines her expertise in wine, finance, and technology in consultancy roles and advises on private wine portfolios.
