The IWSC is very excited to introduce some brand new awards into the 2016 competition.

We have decided to expand and revamp our retailer award categories to see the Retailer of the Year award renamed as the Supermarket of the Year award, as well as introducing a Specialist Multiple Retailer of the Year award.

Our Wine/Spirits Importer of the Year awards remain, but 2016 sees the introduction of a 2nd stage to the process - as always, importers will be judged on a selection of their portfolio in the competition which showcases the breadth and depth of their range (in terms of quality, price point and regions). This year, the results will then be reviewed by a panel who will also take into consideration supporting materials which consider specialisms, events, education and marketing.

We have also added an Innovator of the Year accolade to recognise and reward a retailer changing the landscape of the wine and / or spirits industry, as well as a Group of the Year (Wine/Spirits) award for businesses who are made up from multiple producers, brands or business units.

To complement our spirits packaging awards launched last year, we are also excited to introduce a wine label design award. Open to all wines submitted into the competition, judges will assess the creativity, impact, innovation, relevance and originality of submitted wine labels in the ultimate quest for Wine Label Design of the Year.

To reflect growing demand and production of new wine based drinks aimed at consumers looking for something different, the IWSC have launched a new 'wine-based' product category.

Don't forget - the Online Retailer of the Year and Independent Retailer of the Year awards are open for voting now.
