Each year, the IWSC awards individuals within the drinks industry with a selection of awards. Named our ‘Emerging Talent’ awards, these six accolades are separate from our two other achievement awards: Wine Communicator of the Year and Spirits Communicator of the Year.

The IWSC’s Emerging Talent awards recognise up-and-coming talent from across the drinks industry and gifts each winner a travel bursary of £2,500 courtesy of the IWSC’s philanthropic division: IWSC Foundation.

The IWSC Foundation is a non-profit organisation and was established in October 2018. The Foundation’s purpose is to advance education within the trade through the provision of grants to individuals and organisations, as well as offer support for individuals suffering from the impact of working in the alcoholic beverage industry.

New for 2022, the IWSC is delighted to add two new categories – Emerging Talent in Wine Communication and Emerging Talent in Spirits Communication. The winner of each category will be decided by a judging panel of industry experts and the bursary must be used for travel to further the recipient’s knowledge and understanding of the drinks industry.

The IWSC 2022 Emerging Talent Awards are now open.

Entries must be submitted before Friday 18 February. Judging will take place during the last week of February and the winners will be announced in March.

Further information including entry forms can be found on our Emerging Talent homepage.
